Corndean is known locally as the Pink House for fairly obvious reasons. The house was formerly the laundry for nearby Brooklands Hall. Within the grounds to the rear of the property is Laundry Wood. This consists of deciduous trees and provides a habitat for a range of wildlife.

Corndean is also home to a pair of donkeys Pansy and Sugar Plum, Blossom an aged goat, Freddie and Jack the terriers, an assortment of cats and a flock of doves.
